Signed Palwa Flush Mount Chandelier Gilt Brass Flower Bouquet Crystal Glass 1960
About the Item
Round brass and gilt metal crystal glass floral flush mount chandelier made by high class lighting company Palwa, Germany, circa 1950s to 1960s, documented in the Palwa sales catalog and signed with Palwa company label on reverse. Often wrongly attributed to lighting company Lobmeyr, Austria or Maison Bagues, France this beautiful and rare ceiling light has lots of faceted faint green, mauve to violet and bluish crystal glasses in the shape of flowers and additional leaf applications forming a sparkling flower bouquet. It takes four E14 standard screw bulbs to illuminate. New rewired, so fine working and ready to use. Cleaned with love it stays in very good condition, minor wear consistent with age and use, no missing crystals, no defects. This amazing flush mount has a width of 40 cm / 15.75 inches and a height of 14 cm / 5.51 inches, so perfectly made for rooms with low ceilings. Typical for Palwa, Bakalowits and Lobmeyr this handcrafted ceiling chandelier is made with best materials and is of highest quality. This sparkling beauty is an eye-catcher and a perfect addition and upgrade for any Mid-Century Modern or stylish interior. When illuminated or unlit, it fills any room with noble elegance.
