19th Century Pair of Large Italian Tuscan Foliate Iron Five-Light Sconces

About the Item

A pair of Renaissance style mid-19th century five-arm Italian wall-lights, five curmed arms in wrought Iron, hand-realized with acanthus leaves decoration, ending with walnut turned bobeches. Tuscan origin, they come from a private villa in Tuscany. A set of two antique Italian wrought iron five-light wall candleholders features with five curved and scrolling foliate arms decorated with leaves, ending with turned walnut bobeches and candles arranged for Edison 14 bulbs. The original wiring is still working for Italian standard but we would recommend to rewire them. in quite good condition, only one original embossed shaped back plate. The second back plate missing but we can customize a new hand-made one. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago requires a governative license for export called Belle Arti. The shipping may require additional 2-3 handling weeks to require and get the license according to the final destination of the artwork. Measures: Height 50 cm Width 40 cm Depth 35 cm.

From Northern Italy a rare set of six 18th century gilt wrought iron arms, candle holders, hanging lantern brackets suitable as sconces, if you wire them. These iron arms are fully handmade with curved scrolling iron structure, decorated with  elegant gilt wrought iron acanthus leaves and gildwood balls and bobeches.. Good age related condition, the six arms have the same shape and structure but slightly different sizes, with minor losses, missing giltwood balls in four of item. The gilding of the arms is in good condition, excellent feature in case of their use as sconces, overturning the irons compared to their original use. Some small lacks in the leaves of the crowns of the bobeches, as visible in the picture details. Northern Italy, 1700.
