Ignazio Gardella Model LP6 Mid-Century Wall Lamp for Azucena
About the Item
This wall lamp was designed in the 1950s by the famous Italian architect and designer Ignazio Gardella, and manufactured by Azucena, the company he had founded together with Luigi Caccia Dominioni and Corrado Corradi Dell'Acqua.
This specimen is from 1960 was installed, together with other two lamps that are already sold, in a mansion near Como which interiors were designed by Ico Parisi, another of the most prominent Italian designers at the time.
This lamps usually have a glass upper shade, but where we retreived them they were mounted without them. The owner confirmed they never had it, possibly so they could shine a brighter light.
The lamp remains in good vintage condition, with minor wear and oxidation. It is stamped "Azucena" on the back plate.
