About the Item

Rare Lamp Model Continuelle Lumiere, metal and wood frame. Published by Dino Gavina and Galerie Denise René, Italy, 1968 Gavina label present. Julio Le Parc's experiments with geometric abstraction, light and perception helped create Op art and kinetic art. Le Parc's practice-which spans painting, sculpture, installation, and more-manipulates color palettes, negative space, and subtle plays of light and shadow. Many of his works seem to vibrate; some are literally composed of moving parts. Le Parc embraced utopian ideals throughout his work. Le Parc has exhibited in New York, London, Paris, Buenos Aires, Hong Kong, São Paulo and Rome. His works have sold for six figures on the secondary market and are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Tate, Centre Pompidou, Guggenheim Museum, Museo Reina Sofía, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires, and Museum Ludwig.
