This elegant and refined French wall sconce features the classic half-balloon shape typical of the rich and charming Louis XVI style. Cut and ground crystals of various shapes are manually joined together by thin iron wires, skillfully distributed, and hung from a bronzed brass structure that resembles a basket (hence the French name sac-à-perle). The entire structure is covered with wires composed of tiny beads that give the sconce a luminous appearance even when it is off. The central semicircle is attached at the back by a bar with two lamp holders, one facing up and the other facing down, ensuring the light is evenly distributed. When the sconce is turned on, the ground crystals refract the light into infinite facets, creating enchanting reflections that enhance their decorative effect. This wall sconce was handcrafted between 1980 and 1983 by a small company on the outskirts of Paris, resulting in a unique, precious, and elegant product. The style is a classic French Louis XVI, both opulent and refined; the overall aesthetic is luxurious, regal, and symmetrical, reflecting the neoclassical influence of the Louis XVI era.
