Technical information:

Other color combinations on both the aluminium tube and the wood veneer are available as well as globe bulbs inside the tubes instead of spots and we are always happy to discuss custom solutions. If you need help planning a bigger installation of Corrugation lights, please feel free to get in touch. The linear light and the wall pieces can be cut to length to fit any space and work harmoniously with their surroundings.

Created in collaboration with Theodora Alfredsdottir, “Corrugation” is a collection of lights inspired by midcentury furniture making, honouring the technique of veneer forming. It consists of a scalable hanging light and wall sconces, which can serve as building blocks to create unique combinations playfully spanning across whole rooms.
The collection takes veneer forming as a starting point, a process that requires skilled craftsmanship, which was introduced to the furniture world by design names like Alvar Aalto and the Eames couple, and pairs it with off-the-shelf aluminium tubes. A very sleek pair of sculpted rosewood wall sconces by the Danish lighting firm Vitrika from the 1970s, they feature removable shades with a jagged top. The bodies are solid rosewood, not veneer, the sconce projecting from the tapered angular backing on a reeded brass post with the light switch situated immediately below. They are ideal for a hardwire installation in order to keep wires invisible, but presently have plugs installed on the ends.

A very beautiful pair of antique 17th century baroque period hand-carved giltwood Italian sconces made with gold leaves technique. The corner base is finely carved as acanthus leaves with a pine as final up and down. In the middle of each sconce there is a plain gilt wood band that covers a metal band with holes in which one can put the sconce’s arm. We have just one antique and original arm per sconce but on request we can realize more arms to put on. Each ormolu socket has a very sinuous and curvy shape emphasized by a curl on both sides and embellished by a richly stylized gilt wood leaf pattern. A fully decorative scrolled floral work gilt wood bobeches. Newly wired.
The gold is in perfect condition with a beautiful original patina, the brightly gold of gilt bronze arm will made a scintillating sparkle atmosphere.
