About the Item

Spectacular Danish Mid-Century Modern atomic age wall light consisting of rectangular sticks of yellow and smoke colored acrylic resin creating a sculptural flame like wall light. By Danish designer and flight engineer Claus Bolby for CeBo Industri located in Jutland in the 1970s. Bolby used a particular technique to blow bubbles inside the acrylic to create texture and nuances thus making every lamp unique in its own right. Acrylic on metal mount. Max 25 W. In beautiful vintage condition. Rewiring upon request, local rewiring recommended. Denmark, 1970s. Claus Bolby (-2011) was a flight engineer before he began designing lighting, and in the beginning all his lights were manufactured in the basement of Bolby’s home in Silkeborg in Jutland, Denmark. In 1974, Bolby moved his lighting production to a factory, named it CeBo Industri and began exporting his lights to countries around the world. Bolby continued to work with lighting design up until his death in 2011.
