Set of Three Wall Lights, Baechae Series by Jungeun Hong, Atelier Jun
By Atelier Jun
Located in Seoul, KR
Bae-Chae series is a hand-painted light that subtly embrace a traditional painting method. Combining the traditional technique with contemporary design, each piece is initiated by documenting daily inspiration through colors. Every step of the collection's production takes place in our workshop located in Seoul, South Korea. A key element of the product is the hand-painted sheets, providing a smooth and translucent surface that later becomes the colored illumination. The frame of the colored illumination is achieved by utilizing Hanji-paper, a traditional Korean paper crafted through domestic techniques. Additional elements include inner light fixture components such as a metal frame, LED strips, and an acrylic sheet, which serve both to diffuse the light and provide protection. What makes this collection a set of unique light sculpture is that the designer was inspired by a Poem (Keeping Things Whole by Mark Strand...
