Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Ormolu and Patinated Bronze Sconces

About the Item

A superb pair of French 19th century Louis XVI style ormolu and patinated bronze sconces. Each two arm sconce is centered by a beautiful bottom acorn finial amidst large acanthus leaves. At the centers are crossed torches of the eternal flames each displaying striking foliate finials, richly chased top caps and impressive most decorative frosted glass flames. The torches are tied together by central richly chased berried laurel and oak leaf garlands with beautiful wonderfully executed draped flowing fabrics tied at fine finials on the central futs. The central futs depict richly detailed spiral fluted quivers with striking fletchings above and charming tied ribbons above. All original gilt and patina throughout.
