About the Item

“Fuseau,” a pair of silvered bronze wall sconces with two arms of light. Each sconce is stamped “Ruhlmann.” Recorded under nos. 3009AR and 3665NR in the Ruhlmann archives, Musée des Années 30, Boulogne-Billancourt. Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann (1879-1933) was a French furniture designer and interior decorator and one of the most important and influential figures of the Art Deco movement, even considered by some the godfather of French Art Deco. His designs are characterized through elegance and purity of form, made with precious materials and expert craftsmanship, combining luxuriousness with modernity.
