About the Item
Set of two handmade Danish midcentury Space Age modernist wall lights by Danish designer and flight engineer, Claus Bolby. Manufactured by CeBo Industri in Jutland in the 1970s. Yellow rectangular acrylic resin sticks creating sculptural decoration attached to smooth black and grey acrylic on brass tubular base. Bolby added bubbles between the acrylic layers for texture and light effect, thus making every light fixture unique. Both fixtures have been rewired for EU and US, and are in excellent vintage condition.

Denmark, 1970s.
Claus Bolby (1944-2011) was a flight engineer before he took on lighting design, and in the beginning all his lights were manufactured in the basement of Bolby’s home in Silkeborg in Jutland, Denmark. In 1974, Bolby moved his lighting production to a factory, named it CeBo Industri and began exporting his lights to countries around the world. Bolby continued to work with lighting design up until his death in 2011.
