True Pair of French 19th C. Neoclassical St. Biscuit De Sèvres Porcelain Sconces

About the Item

A beautiful and most elegant true pair of French 19th century Neo-Classical st. Biscuit de Sèvres Porcelain and ormolu sconces. Each three arm sconce is centered by fine bottom elongated acorn finials below most decorative scrolled foliate Rinceau designs and the fine lightly curved urn shaped body. The three elegantly scrolled arms display a fluted design leading to fluted candle cups. Each sconce displays an exceptional fitted circular Biscuit de Sèvres Porcelain plaque with wonderfully executed scenes of a mother taking a bow away from a young winged cherub, possibly Cupid, and the other of beautiful woman draped in flowing garment holding a net away from a winged cherub who is holding a quiver. Each plaque is set within a richly chased mottled border with Coeur de Rai designs and decorated with finely detailed swaging berried laurel garlands with a striking fluted urn and palmettes above.
