About the Item

Aladdin were the preeminent maker of kerosene lamps with a global presence that would make the CIA drool. In the 1950's they produced several stunning modernist designs, all rare and highly collectible. This lamp has a round cherry base arising out of which are three brass plated steel rods which support the tall central white satin glass cylinder. Around that is a flared round textured paper and gold ribbon shade with an armature which seems to enable it to float around the central chimney. Stamped Aladdin on the original green felt on the underside. Very good original vintage condition. Shade is clean with some waviness to paper. Satin glass cylinder has a clean break that has been repaired...a single piece. Brass plating has worn off three rods which support cylinder.
