Very nice pair of church or altar candlesticks in silver metal. The wear of the silver gives them a magnificent patina. Louis XIV-style Nineteenth century. These pretty candleholders / torchieres are mounted as a lamp to be easily used in modern interiors. The gadrooned was, was with gadroon rests on a tripose base with rock style decorations on claw feet / lion's paw From the 19th century but in a late 17th century early 18th century style, these beautiful candlesticks are classically inspired and correspond perfectly to the Louis XIV style. This style is characterized by the majesty and richness of its furnishings. The Louis XIV style follows the Louis XIII style. The style emerged with the advent of the reign of Louis XIV in 1661 and lasted until the end of the 17th century.
