About the Item

Sculptural anthropomorphic lamp by Albert Tormos, carved in cream Gard stone, circa 1974. In the 1970s, Albert Tormos developed a singular sculptural language around Gard stone, which he patiently hand-carved to reveal its raw, primitive strength. His lamps, balanced between sculpture and function, evoke archaic presences filled with quiet spirituality. This model features a single light source at the top of the head, casting a gentle glow that enhances the stone's contours and texture. The illumination seems to animate the material itself, giving the figure an almost ritual and meditative presence. Invoice dated February 23rd, 1974, from a shop in Bern. Creation by Albert Tormos, circa 1974.
