About the Item
Chinoiserie style Oriental table lamp by Antonio Campuzano, Spain, 1960s. A very representative item of the authentic Asian art, handmade by this spanish sculptor. Made of crackled glazed ceramic representing a typical oriental elephant with ornamentation, in ivory white tone. Black lacquered wooden base and brass structure. Sealed at the inner part of the base with the sculptor's emblem. Hollywood Regency and French Riviera styles.
This type of oriental style lamps became very popular from the 1960s on. Hollywood Regency and Palm Beach style.
Antonio Campuzano i Solans (1919-1988) was a sculptor, figurist and nativity scener, and his work belongs to the Talarn or Historicist School. His training was self-taught, and he used his art in sculpture and terracotta ceramics, performing his works in small formats and with different finishes depending on the piece, being able to leave them in natural terractoa or finished in vitrified and crackled earthenware, among many other finishes. Currently many of his works are considered collector's pieces and can be obtained through specialized antique dealers and auction houses.

For 1 E27 bulb. Original electric installation reviewed. Ceramic, base and structure in perfect condition. Base in perfect condition. The lampshade is original and has been cleaned, but it shows slight signs of the passage of time (see last two photos).

That is why sometimes certain elements can present wear and tear, but they are part of the life of each piece, always providing a very pleasant patina.
