About the Item
Rare ASEA table lamp, model E1272, dating back to the 1950s, featuring a rounded base crafted from solid wood. The disc shaped metal shade is adjustable and held in place by a brass arm.
ASEA, the Swedish electrical company, was established as early as 1883, specializing in the production of electrical lights and generators. By the late 1940s, ASEA had acquired several rival companies, solidifying its position as one of Sweden's premier manufacturers of light fixtures. ASEA's Stockholm drawing office was responsible for the development of numerous modernistic lamps, designed for both public spaces and domestic applications. The company collaborated with several renowned designers, including Hans Bergström and Uno Kristiansson, over the years.
