1978 Rockefeller Collection
Dimensions: Approximately 28" tall by 18" deep and 18" wide
In 1977 Nelson Rockefeller commissioned cast gilded copies of his Alberto Giacometti collection. This Tête de Femme lamp is the first edition thus and copyrighted 1978. The casting is superb and far superior to both other versions and later editions. Rockefeller wouldn't settle for anything less than exceptional.
Extremely rare to find such a marvelous, 1st thus, of these Rockefeller Giacometti lamps. Etched with Alberto Giacometti's name and also the 1978 copyright date on the base. This marvelous example comes from a desert estate and is remarkable in its dry air preserved beauty! The finest example of the Tête de Femme Giacometti sculptural table lamp!
