Table lamp shadow : Decoratively woven Colour: Ginger (terracotta) / pink Are you looking for a show-piece for your home? This entirely woven table lamp is an certainly going to hold your attention. More than just a lamp, this is a decorative object that is woven like lace with stripes of rich terracotta, black, natural and pink (measuring 35cm x 48cm), this striking lamp will illuminate your home. Description of the woven table lamp shadow The lamp was designed in our studio by Sara Efia Reddin, the contemporary shape and detailing elevates a timeless artisanal traditional to create an inspiring decorative object. This natural woven table lamp is entirely woven by hand using a traditional basket weaving technic from Bolgatanga, in the north of Ghana. The delicate open weave stripes spread light patterns across walls. Only the master weavers can achieve the details in the Shadow lamps. The lamp is assembled with care to order in our workshop with polished brass fixtures, cork base, silk twisted cable and certified electrics. Woven with the grass Veta Vera, which is naturally durable. This beautiful Table Lamp is magnificent on a mantlepiece, next to your bed, or in a hallway. Technics used to make the shadow table lamp Basket weaving from Bolgatanga is a a traditional African weaving technic. The grass Veta Vera grows locally. The reeds are twisted by hand and small batches are coloured using vegetable or food dyes in cauldrons. The weaving is tight and smooth. Our lamps are woven by an association of weavers, these weavers have honed their art to make our contemporary shapes. This lamp is made from two woven elements and takes 5-6 days to weave. To own one of our table lamps, is to encourage the modernisation of a wonderful tradition, inspiring and supporting the weaving communities by introducing their art to the contemporary design world. CE certified electrics bought in Europe ; ? Structure woven by hand, height approximately 48 cm and diameter approximately 35 cm ; ? Available in 3 colours : Natural/Midnight (black), Ginger (terracotta)/Pink and Herb(bottle green)/ Violet Please note : we recommend, using a LED bulb max. 8w Please do not forget that this lamp is woven by hand and the slight differences in shape and colour are completely normal. Please also remember that the material is natural and therefore we do not recommend them for use outside or on terraces or hanging in a hot humid room in front of a window. The colours are natural and may fade if hung in direct sunlight. Golden Editions believes that artisanal is the new luxury. Our lamps and cushions are made by hand to be treasured.. 10 % of the price (HT) goes to initiatives in the weaving communities.
