Donald Deskey Style Machine Age Aluminum Desk Lamp
About the Item
This wonderful lamp is often attributed to Donald Deskey. This desk lamp defines the overall aesthetic of the Machine Age of the 1930 and 1940s. Sleek and streamlined period modernist lighting all at the turn of a knob. Nicely signed example with complete decal, Manufactured by Lightning Products, Inc., Highland Park, Illinois. Nice two tone affect with the silvery aluminum and the base retaining its textured black powder coating. Replacement bulbs would be available at a hardware store for this lamp.
Good overall working condition with minor cosmetic wear and blemishes. Some minor scuffs. Wear consistent with age and use. The wiring looks looks like it might have been re-wired within the past 30 years.
