This early Arts and Crafts fixture is practical in size and the rustic design is simply gorgeous. It may not look very sophisticated to most people, but this early European Arts and Crafts design with its seemingly simple shape and materials is actually very special and collectors and enthusiasts will immediate recognize its 'soul' and beauty. Both with the light switched on and of, this work-of-art-table-lamp is an absolute joy to look at and its amazing patina is as good as can be. Every single piece of this lamp (from top to bottom) is either hand-forged, hand-hammered or both and its patina is absolutely perfect. What makes this table or desk light extra special are the inlaid chunky glass like gems. It is our job to look at every piece with the greatest care and attention and we suddenly noticed how these chunky glass pieces looked very similar. It was then when we found that they in fact are the same and they are made from lucite (a very early plastic). Whilst looking for the maker's mark (rare and very good pieces very often are marked) we thusfar only found what looks like the word GERMANY stamped into the bottom of the metal base. For this antique lamp not be marked by its maker is hard to understand, because it is too good not to be. Furthermore, this Arts and Crafts gem comes with the original brass and porcelain socket with the bakelite switch with which it can easily be switched on and off. This remarkable lamp too is even better looking in real life than in our images. This one of a kind Arts and Crafts table lamp is rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage the world over and when purchased by an American client we will also attach an American power plug so that it can be used and enjoyed upon arrival.
