French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and Breche Violette marble lamp
About the Item
A lovely and most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and Breche Violette marble lamp. This attention grabbing lamp is raised by a square Ormolu base with cut corners and supported on four pawed feet. The base displays fluted designs on each side and rosettes on each corner. Atop the base is a fluted circular socle with egg and dart patterns around the bottom section. The stunning Breche Violette body is secured by a palmette decorated Ormolu bottom mount that attaches to the remaining bands. The two vertical bands on both sides attach to the band which wraps around the body that displays a male busts at the intersections and reserves. The top cap of this attractive lamp contains a fine circular mount with a beaded band around the edge.
