French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Ormolu And Calacatta Marble Lamp
About the Item
A stunning and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and Calacatta marble lamp. This beautiful lamp is raised on a circular Calacatta marble base below a mottled and fluted Ormolu band and spiral fluted socle pedestal. The body displays charming scenes of cherubs joyfully congregating with bouquets of flowers amidst foliate designs and wearing floral crowns on their heads. Above the cherubs on both sides of the lamp are bold and powerful busts of horned mythological creatures with berried laurel vines and connected by swaging garlands. The lamp showcases a stunning mottled and beaded top cap below the foliate neck.
