Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Ormolu and Marble Lamps
About the Item
A wonderful pair of whimsical French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and marble lamps. Each lamp is raised on a foliate topie feet below the circular base with protruding rectangular blocks and foliate panels. Above the white Carrara marble socle are the ormolu cherubs each seated on a grotto terrain with foliate garlands in their hair. Each cherub holds up the flower designed central column of the lamp. Finely chased throughout with lovely details and expressions.
