About the Item

A superb French and Asian collaboration 19th century Louis XV st. Famille Verte porcelain and ormolu lamp. The lamp is raised by a beautiful and richly chased scrolled foliate base with striking cabochons, acanthus leaves and lattice designs. The elegantly shaped vase displays charming wonderfully executed scenes of samurais on one side and charming personages on the other, all in lovely vivid colors. At each side are richly chased fitted foliate handles with fine branch designs and oak leaves while above is the pierced luxuriant foliate top cap all in a rich satin and burnished finish. All original gilt throughout.
