ITALIAN FOR LAUREL LAMP! MID CENTURY MODERN TRI-COLOR ACCENT LAMP! STUNNING DESIGN! CIRCA 1953 A TOUR DE FORCE OF ITALIAN MID CENTURY LIGHTING! DIMENSIONS: Lamp: 21" Tall Width 16" After the Italian Triennale of 1953, where modern Italian Lighting took center stage, Laurel Lamp Company decided they were not going to be left behind. So, they penned contracts with Italian designers to give their designs an edge! Angelo Lelii's Three armed, primary color floor lamp had been the star of the Italian Triennale of 1953 and many designers followed this "modern art" trend. These Italian designs for Laurel were a big hit! This lamp is gorgeous and has the finest in technology that was available at the time! A three-way switch on the base permits the lighting of one two or all three shades! A dimmer knob on the cord permits the adjustment of the lighting of those shades - from barely perceptible to very bright! Perfect for creating DRAMATIC interior lighting! This lamp was a few decades ahead of its time! This lamp is in very fine vintage condition! Light tarnish to the brass and metal finishes is visible. The refinished enamel shows light wear. The base has some age appropriate metal dings. This lamp presents superbly and is a work of modern art for the finest interiors! A marvelous addition to your NY penthouse, Palm Springs atomic ranch or West Palm Beach estate!
