A fantastic large handmade ceramic stonewear lamp base made by Einar Johansen for Söholm, Denmark. This lamp is a classic and timeless lamp made by the talented Johansen, it has a dark blue colour with various nuances of blue and hints of green in the glazing, it is 31cm (7.48") high with the lampfitting and around 15cm (4.72") in diameter at the base. The price includes free shipping. NOTE: it is re-wired for Swedish and most of EU standard with an E27 electric plug and it is in a good condition. Lamp shade is not included- Søholm Keramik (Ceramics), Denmark was founded by Edvard Christian Sonne and Herman Sonne Wolffsen in 1835. Has been one of Denmark’s leading manufacturers of modern ceramics both in household goods and art pottery. The pottery produced has become one of the leading brands all over Europe, the products always hold a unique quality, the design can be considered to have world class being both innovative and with a respect for tradition. One of the most leading Scandinavian designer and artist was the famous Michael Andersen, who made some famous art ceramic interior design objects such as vases in the 1960s-70s, using a modern twist on his vases as well as very special glazing techniques valued by the retro and vintage market. Other designers worth mentioning are Marianne Starck, Svend Aage Jensen and Noomi Backhausen.

    A very cute little vintage handmade ceramic stoneware lamp base made from Söholm, Denmark. This lamp is a classic, elegant and timeless lamp. The shape is rather unusual, wide base and slender neck, it has a contemporary feeling, yet it is the glazing that is making it so special, it has a brown and at times beige or sandy colour which gives a sophisticated look and this will be a centerpiece in any interior setting. It is 21cm (8.26") high including the lamp fitting and around 11cm (4.33") in diameter. The price includes FREE shipping. NOTE: It is has been newley rewired with an electrical plug suitable for Swedish and most of EU standard and it needs an E27 screw bulb and that the lamp is in an excellent condition.
