New York, Sculpted Contemporary Table Lamp, White-Resin with 24-Karat Gold Leaf
About the Item
This contemporary Margit Wittig table lamp sits on a rectangular slate base and features multiple white resin handcrafted spheres and semi-circles with organic surface textures. A single central semicircle is enveloped in 24-karat gold leaf, done by hand.
These shapes are separated by two abstract sculptural portraits, sculpted by Margit Wittig and cast in her London studio.
Margit Wittig is inspired by modern artists and sculptors such as Giacometti and Ivon Hitchens. Her work is constantly evolving using different textures as the driving force, intertwined with her work with color. Her functional art spreads the gamit from modern simplicity to rich and complex designs and color. Her pieces are placed with collectors around the globe.

Margit Wittig
London based artist, Margit Wittig creates bespoke lighting and occasional furniture. All pieces are hand-made and through her work Margit allows her clients to evoke a narrative to express their own taste and style in their interiors. Although the work is contemporary, it is often blended into classically styled interiors. Margit’s work can best be described as versatile, functional art although she is an artist, sculptor and painter by training. Kit Kemp of Firmdale Hotels – think New York’s Whitby Hotel and London’s Ham Yard - describes Margit’s work as ‘curious, intriguing, classical yet lyrical’. All of her lighting, furniture and accessories are made to order and come in resin, some with touches of hand-blown glass.
Available with or without lampshade. Price will vary.
Variation in 24k gold or silver leaf possible.
