Nuclée, Sustainable Mood Light Signed & Numbered by the Artists

About the Item

Nuclée is currently produced in France in a original limited series of 12 art pieces, numbered and signed, handcrafted from natural materials. It is sold in its custom packaging, a jute sheathed power cable, a certificate of authenticity and a designers’ note. Nuclée was born in Taiwan from an encounter with the Kavalan aboriginal people, experts in the use of banana fiber. These art pieces revalorise a considerable residue unexploited by the Kavalan : the flesh of the banana tree. This "new" material is sublimated by walnut rings, inspired by the internal structure of the banana tree. Nuclée is laureate of "Le French Design 100 Award" (Paris, 2022), the "Green Product Award" (Berlin, 2021) and of the "Best of Year Grand Prize" (New York, 2020). Design and manufacturing : Dorian Etienne and Cordélia Faure Materials : upcycled banana fiber, local walnut, black granite, jute, LED strip, assembly elements Made in France / designed in Taiwan. + 80 Hours of manufacturing / piece + 100 Manufacturing steps / piece.
