Pair of Antique Asian Champleve’ Enameled Bronze Urns Fashioned As Table Lamps

About the Item

For your consideration, a most distinctive pair of similarly styled Japanese archaic style urns from the late 19th century, repurposed as highly decorative table lamps. Japan, Meiji period (1868–1912), with later elements, near matching pair of two champleve’ enameled patinated bronze handled urn vases, now professionally electrified and fashioned as table lamps. The visually striking Asian antiques are surmounted by large figural griffin finials, each fitted with a single bulb light fixture, rising from a patinated brass capped high quality bronze and brass bottleneck with flanking stylized mythical creature handles, the bulbous vasiform tapering body decorated with rich polychrome enamel in trailing grape vine, floral and Phoenix bird motif, mounted on later gilt metal dolphin form scroll supports, atop a lobed pierced stand base. Dimensions: (approx) 30" High (to finial), 7" Wide, 7" Deep A wonderful way to add sculptural form, texture, shape, color and other key design elements; sure bring whimsical elegance, refined sophistication, historical depth, and rich cultural interest to any space!
