About the Item
1950s desk lamp designed for Helion VEB Leuchtenbau in the city of Arnstadt, East Germany, unusually with both a Bakelite shade and base, articulated by a brushed steel curved arm. The curved arm adjusts at the base and the lamp shade also pivots on a ball joint at the top, so there are numerous angles that the light can be set at.
The lamp has been professionally rewired and is in good overall condition. There is evidence of a previous repair to the Bakelite base where the arm pivots, and a couple of hairline cracks to the rim of the shade – barely noticeable unless you’re looking for them (please see images).
