About the Item
A beautiful Art Deco table lamp, crafted from metal with a globe-shaped base, a porcelain lamp holder with an integrated porcelain light switch, and a hexagonal foot. It is decorated with a dramatic scene depicting two birds of prey fighting. Complete with a gold lampshade adorned with a decorative row of fringes. Total height 47 cm, height without shade 32 cm, diameter shade 27 cm, diameter fixture 17 cm.
Stjärnmetall, originally called Stjärnkvists Metall, was a metal workshop located in the Swedish town of Mariefred. The company produced a wide range of decorative objects crafted from a zinc alloy developed at the factory. The two designers, Gunnar Åkerlind and Sonja Katzin, were associated with the company, but today, the designers behind most Stjärnmetall products remain unknown.
