Sculptural Gilt Bronze Leather Knotted Table Lamp French 1970s Jansen Pergay Era
About the Item
Sculptural French and probably unique knotted table lamp, France around 1970s. The rare table lamp which is made of patinated gilt brass and bronze has a cylinder base with leather top which has a width of 12 cm / 4.72 inches, a beautiful sculptural knotted stem and a round brass bowl shape lampshade which has a width of 32 cm / 12.60 inches and which is covered with hand-stitched cognac brown color leather all with a warm and beautiful characteristic patination, minor wear consistent with age and use. The table lamp takes three E14 standard screw globe bulbs to illuminate, shown here with golden mirrored bulbs. We recommend LED bulbs which produce no heat. Switch and wiring are perfect, so all is fine working and ready to use. This heavy and of high quality piece which has a total height of 53 cm / 20.87 inches is simply stunning. The design belongs to one of the great Midcentury french designers or companies of the last Century like Maison Charles, Maison Jansen and Maria Pergay and Michel Armand. A cool statement piece.
