About the Item
Superb and very rare sculptural French abstract bird table lamp by artist Philippe Jean, France around 1970s. The table lamp has a square heavy black-grey granite base signed Ph. Jean and 107/300, so from a limited edition, a crystal glass globe sphere with bubbles inside most probably created by Baccarat France, a gilt bronze abstract bird sculpture which seems to be flying in space and which reminds of Giacometti, and its original silk fabric lamp shade in rusty brown to bronze color with black rim, inside golden. The amazing table lamp is 65 cm /25.59 inches tall including shade, the lampshade is 36 cm / 14.17 inches wide, 22 cm / 8.66 inches deep and 30 cm / 11.81 inches tall. The artistic high quality table lamp stays in overall very good original vintage condition, partly minor spots and touchmarks which is typical consistent with age and use. It has one plastic fitting and it takes one E27 screw bulb to illuminate. Wiring and switch are perfect, so all is fine working and ready to use. This rare beauty is a highlight and an upgrade for any noble design interior.
