About the Item
Doggy Lamp by Wan Wan Wonderland (Tokyo, Japan)
Delightful and whimsical table lamp with white pleated shades and expertly hand-crafted black wooden base. Each lamp is hand crafted by WAN(of WAN WAN WONDERLAND), an artist and dog lover, at her woodworking atelier in Tokyo, Japan. The stylized wooden bases are assembled with a combination of different hardwoods such as cherry, ash, and oak. The head of the dog on each lamp is designed to pivot for extra cuteness. This one looks like a Scottie / Scottish Terrier.
This adorable lamp is sure to make a warm and playful addition to any living room, study / library or bedroom, and would also work well in kids' rooms as well.
Lamp are assembled with brass hardware and wired with a black cord with an in-line switch. White pleated lamp shade included.
Wooden base is painted black and lacquered.

About WAN WAN WONDERLAND (wooden works by WAN)
WAN(b.1987) was born in Tokyo and has a background in media and woodworking. She runs an atelier & gallery YAHHO-HOUSE in Yaho, Kunitachi with Satsuki Kotani. She holds a group exhibition, "Doggy & Chum," every year at YAHHO-HOUSE
Q & A from The Backyard Show (May 2023, New York)
Q: What are some things that have most influenced your work?
WAN: My father is an architect, so I wanted to become a person who makes things since I was a child.
I also do furniture repair, and old furniture designs I've repaired are a big source of inspiration. I recently realized that incorporating a dog into my design brings out the best in me, because I love dogs. The dogs I pass by on the street and my pet dog TEN, are very important to my work.

Luft Tanaka Studio
Luft Tanaka Studio specializes in creating original art objects, furniture, and lighting at the intersection of design, technology, and craft. Originally from Kasugai, Japan, Luft moved to New York City in 2008 and studied Product Design at Parsons School of Design. Luft utilizes his intuitive understanding of materials and processes, to meticulously craft unique and covetable pieces of art. The Kawa Series, which he produces by casting liquid porcelain into sewn leather molds, is a result of years of experimentation and invention of a production method completely unique to Luft Tanaka Studio.
