Svend Aage Holm Sørensen, table lamp, iron, wood and glass, Sweden, 1960s
This table lamp is an excellent example of finding itself at the intersection of art and design. The iron frame shows a beautiful construction of clear lines placed horizontally and vertically, creating different geometrical shapes. Within these shapes, several squares of glass in turquoise and blue are implemented. The whole artistic creation is supported by a rectangular shaped foot executed in wood, providing a solid balance to the design. The artistry of this particular lamp makes sure that it can be placed as a visual statement in the room.
