Swedish Art Nouveau Ceramic Table Lamp, Karl Robert Svensson for Höganäs, 1900s

About the Item

Tall Swedish Art Nouveau / Jugendstil Ceramic Table Lamp by Karl Robert Svensson for Höganäs, 1900s Striking and rare early 20th-century Swedish Art Nouveau / Jugendstil handmade ceramic table lamp designed by Karl Robert Svensson for Höganäs in the 1900s–1910s. The sculptural form is reminiscent of Danish master Arne Bang’s work, with beautifully flowing organic lines and four integrated handles that form part of the understated decoration. Crafted in stoneware with a rich blue glaze featuring darker and lighter undertones, creating a quiet yet captivating depth. The socket base and fitting are in metal, while the upper part of the socket is porcelain. Signed on the underside "HÖGANÄS KS" — the initials referring to Karl Robert Svensson. A small, inconspicuous area near the base where the glaze does not fully cover — visible in the photos. Sold without lampshade. Dimensions: Height to socket: 15.94 in. (40.5 cm) Height with current lampshade: 20.47 in. (52 cm) Diameter at widest point: 5.91 in. (15 cm) Please see all photos.
