About the Item
Bright red Scandinavian Mid-century modern table lamp. A very special and rather large vintage ceramic lamp base, made by Thomas Hellström for Nittsjö Keramik, Sweden. This lamp base has a simple design, yet it is the fantastic red color on the base contrasted with a darker grey base, which nearly looks like concrete, which gives it a contemporary feeling. This lamp will make a bold statement to any interior setting.
It is 30cm (11.81") high, including the light fitting and 16cm (6.29") in diameter and it is in a very good condition.
NOTE that this lamp is newly re-wired for Swedish standard (and for most parts of EU) with an extra-long cord and takes an E27 bulb and that the lamp shades are not included. Also note that this is a rather heavy object, just under 3kg (6.39lbs). The price includes FREE shipping
Nittsjö Keramik, Sweden.
Nittsjö ceramics factory is a limited company for the production of earthenware and various types of pottery becoming a leading brand during the 1960s and 70s appreciated for their take on Scandinavian design, when it comes to modern interior design. The factory was founded in 1843 as a pure brick factory, but in 1847 they began to manufacture terracotta and tile stoves. In 1924, the first ceramic designer Erik Mornils was employed at the factory. In 1933, the Rättvik-born artist Jerk Werkmäster was linked to the factory. Some of their more well-known artists and designers were Jerk Werkmäster, Thomas Hellström and Eliane Westh known for their colocurful design and production of vases as well as many other ceramic art objects known to the retro and vintage enthusiasts.

The shape is rather unusual, wide base and slender neck, it has a contemporary feeling, yet it is the glazing that is making it so special, it has a brown and at times beige or sandy colour which gives a sophisticated look and this will be a centerpiece in any interior setting. It is 21cm (8.26") high including the lamp fitting and around 11cm (4.33") in diameter. The price includes FREE shipping. NOTE: It is has been newley rewired with an electrical plug suitable for Swedish and most of EU standard and it needs an E27 screw bulb and that the lamp is in an excellent condition.
