"Kanji" is a wide table lamp, designed by Denis Guidone and manufactured by Fontana Arte, made in blown glass with two finishes, transparent smoky gray and frosted white, and structure and handle in black painted metal. It's provided with a dimmer and lighting source is 10W LED (2700K, CRI>80, Lumen 1000). Dimensions: Ø 16.8", H 15.3" "Kanji" is a collection of lighting elements that reinterprets traditional oriental portable lanterns in a contemporary vision. Available in tabletop and ceiling models, it draws inspiration from Chinese porcelain dating from the Ming dynasty. The handblown glass diffuser, in frosted white and translucent smoky gray, is adorned with a pleated surface decoration. A LED ring runs inside the structure and magically illuminates the diffuser. Evocative of Far East not only as form but also as a name, as "Kanji" are characters of Chinese origin used in Japanese writing in conjunction with the Hiragana and Katakana syllabaries, "Kanji" is designed to be used alone or in pairs, with each form amplifying the aesthetic power of the other. Denis Guidone studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and at FAUP in Oporto. He won numerous international awards, including the IDA Design Award in Los Angeles. Louis Jobst' Monument Lamp - Circle is high quality, bespoke and handmade using solid raw materials. The base is finished with a black patina and cut from 90mm thick steel billet. Markings from the process are visible and intentionally left, exposing the character of the material. A circular block of Carrara marble slots into the steel base. The opal glass diffuser is hand blown with a matte finish. The concept was to design a lamp triptych (circle, triangle and square) made out of high quality materials for a formal interior space. A triptych of varying forms, colors and textures could create a 'common ground' throughout a space, whilst also working as individual lamps. Inspiration has come from architectural forms such as monoliths and monuments, implemented through the design with heavy, robust materials and simple geometric forms. The lamps consist of stacked shapes, designed like a small column...
