Vintage Monumental James Mont Brass Table Lamp Etching and Eastern Influences

About the Item

The beautiful brass patina makes this James Mont mid-century lamp a standout. If a lamp can be exciting, this is it. It is encircled with etching and Asian motif symbols around the outside. It is a beautiful example of Mont's Hollywood Regency style lighting and will bring a sense of design and high style to any room. The lamps is on a three way switch. This would be magnificent in a foyer or entryway. It just imparts a sense of drama. James Mont's artistry helped popularize the Asian fusion effect in design. His design style attracted the attention and loyal following of many Hollywood A-listers in the 1950s and '60s including John Barrymore, Lana Turner, Bob Hope and songwriter Irving Berlin. His taste and style endure in pieces like this beautiful brass lamp. It measures 32 inches tall and 9 inches deep and wide. It operates perfectly.

Wear consistent with age and use. There is one small area on the base of the lamp where the finish is scuffed, but the lamp still presents extremely well. See pictures.
