Vintage Space Age table lamp with marble base and revolving chromed metal shade
About the Item
Offered for sale is a vintage Space Age table lamp made in Italy around the mid 1960s. It is built on a triangular white Carrara marble base, and has a round stainless steel frame holding a revolving chromed metal lampshade. The lampshade can be tilted at any angle to orientate the light; furthermore, an inner perforated disc serves as a light diffuser.
The light has a single E27 light bulb, and generates a warm, enveloping low light if placed on a desk or writing table; when rotated upside down, it is still bright enough to set an atmospheric lighting.
The lamp is preserved in original untouched conditions: its just been cleaned (not even polished), revealing the chrome coating is in perfect shape even after six decades.
