Welsh Copper Illuminated LEADERS Trade sign

About the Item

Welsh Copper Illuminated LEADERS Trade sign An original Welsh illuminated copper trade sign from the 1970s. A highly decorative object because of its typography style and wording “LEADERS”. This sign is believed to be from the head offices of the Welsh newspaper company formerly known as The Wrexham Evening Leader. This publication terminated in 2018 and was first published in 1973. A rare survivor and recently rewired for current day use. Size in inches: H 10.5” x W 31” x D 11” Origin: Wales Date: 1970s Condition: Aged Weight: 5 This item is in complete original condition, apart from being rewired and the red Perspex being added to the cut out text which may have had a piece of glass inserted many years ago but has been lost or damaged over the years. There is wear and tear present in the form of faded surface (Verdigris), natural damage (loss of some finishing detail on the face as shown). The box has been photographed with a makeshift piece of card at the base to stop the light from illuminating underneath (only for photographic purposes). With a new 240v bayonet 2 bulb and new cord being fitted for current day use.
