About the Item

Bold, sculptural, and unmistakably postmodern, this XXL ceramic table lamp was designed by François Chatain in France during the 1980s. With its commanding form and saturated color palette —deep red, vibrant yellow, and rich emerald green—the piece is a striking example of French design with Memphis-inspired aesthetics. The ceramic base measures 50 × 38 cm and is in outstanding condition, free of chips, cracks, or restorations. Its pristine glaze and clean geometry make it not just a lighting object, but a collector-worthy design sculpture that adds energy, character, and rarity to any interior. The lamp has been professionally rewired, is fitted for standard E27 bulbs (up to 60W or LED equivalent), and comes with a European plug. A U.S. adapter can be included upon request at no extra charge. It is sold with the new shade shown in the photos, chosen to enhance the base without competing with its bold geometry. Perfect for curated interiors, design collectors, or creative commercial spaces, this lamp offers not only light, but a striking visual anchor and conversation-starting centerpiece. A rare opportunity to own a piece of 1980s French design at its most expressive.
