Very large heavily carved Regency style round Gilt frame with Convex Mirror
About the Item
A very fine and unusually large English Regency style convex mirror set in a super thick and deep hand carved Giltwood frame finished in Oil Gilding with Ebonized details
This is a very large mirror and frame, the overall diameter is 118cm and the frame is 15cm thick x 10cm Deep, making the convex mirror 88cm diameter - exceptionally large for this style and shape of glass and frame, a very unique piece.
The oversized frame is in a beautiful patinated Oil Gilded Gold Leaf finish over a traditional red base, the gilding is in very good condition throughout. From outside edge to centre the carved details are Ribbon & Reed, Beaded and Acanthus Leaf details.
In contrast to the Gilt is a 3.5cm thick Ebonised inset reeded frame next to the mirror glass with 28 Ebonised 3.5cm balls around the frame on the deepest section of the gilded outer edge
The mirror has no damage or scratches at all, the frame has one small section of discolouration from a minor candle burn, as pictured. Please feel free to ask any additional question or for more photos if required
