Pair of French Provincial Gilded Hand Carved Bobbin Chairs with Woven Cane Seats
About the Item
A beautiful pair of excellent quality early 20th century Edwardian period, hand carved gilt corner Bobbin Chairs with perfect woven cane seat (probably not original but of unknown date of re-working the seat)
This pair of chairs are in the original Gilt finish which has been applied over a rich yellow base colour - the finish being original clearly shows signs of wear and natural patina over over 100 years of use - its not a finish that can be replicated of created, but the chairs could easily be re-gilded if the purchaser wants an all gold finish. The cane seat is in exceptionally good condition for its age and still firm to the touch - and hand nailed in place around the edges.
Please just ask if you have any questions - these chairs would make beautiful occasional chairs in a guest bedroom or children's bedroom/ playroom
