A superbly crafted and highly functional piece, ideal for the discerning collector or gentleman’s dressing room. Fine early Victorian craftsmanship, with beautifully figured mahogany and birch throughout Desirably aged mirror plate, offering a clear reflection with minor historic markings Adjustable height and angle, aided by a refined brass vernier mechanism, rotating through 180° Demi-lune compartment lids open to reveal a charming birch-lined interior with caramel tones Mirror plinth framed in mahogany with elegant bevelled edge moulding Decorative acanthus bulb carving to the upright support, showcasing quality hand-carved work Raised upon a distinctive tripod base, with bold cabriole legs and graceful scrolled toes Rich colour palette and wax polish finish enhance the warm tones of the period timbers This antique shaving mirror is a rare and elegant example of 19th century personal grooming furniture, and is as functional as it is decorative, offering refined style for any classic interior.
