About the Item
This beautiful gold leaf gilded Louis Philippe mirror has an ornate crest on top.
The upper corners are curved, as is typical for Louis Philippe.
Both frame and crest are gold leaf gilt. The red 'bole' shines through the gold giving the gold it's warm appearance. The frame has floral engraving on the elevated part of the frame. The engraved part is more red than the surrounding parts that are more gold colored.
The frame has a pearl beading next to the thick original mercury glass. The mirror glass is authentic to the piece and it is in good condtion with little wear and only a few small scratches. The pine back cladding is original as well.
This mirror is highly authentic and has a warm gold appearance with great patina.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Both back cladding and mirror plate were removed from the frame in our atelier. Everything was gently cleaned and over a 100 years of dust was removed. After cleaning the glass was reinserted and the cladding reattached.
