Elegant French Louis XVI style carved giltwood and painted Trumeau mirror,
circa 1900.
The mirror is surmounted with a gilt acanthus inspired crest decorated in a foliate motif above a shaped panel with a painted canvas tapestry depicting a romantic scene of a French gentleman courting a woman in traditional garments, over a rectangular mirror plate flanked by decorative scrolls and shells.
The gilding to this mirror is spectacular.
