About the Item
Unusual Art Nouveau Mahogany Mirror Console from the famous Vienna Secession period in Austria around 1905. This huge mirror console is an architectural masterpiece and was elaborately made by the famous company of Julius & Josef Hermann. A fantastic shaped substructure made of spruce wood has been veneered with fine mahogany. The artfully designed base consists of two distinctive "box" elements on the left and on the right, adorned by beautiful looking, inlayed brass pattern. A lower middle part with a compartment underneath graced by two small columns on each side - reminding us of a temple - builds the perfect place for having a seat to tie your shoes.
