Mid 19th Century Northern German Biedermeier Mirror, circa 1840
About the Item
Antique table or make-up mirror, made in northern Germany circa 1840.
Dimensions: H x W x D: 55 x 35 x 20 cm
Description:
Two-legged, semi-circular base on a blackened plinth.
The frame is mounted on the slightly protruding plate to hold the pivoting mirror. This is mounted in the typical Biedermeier frame with ebonized corner accents and suspended centrally at two points in the frame.
The top of the frame is connected to a baluster gallery with a mirrored back. Two alabaster spheres form the upper end.
Very beautiful craftsmanship.
Condition: Refurbished condition, stable and suitable for everyday use.
